Today, people are quite accustomed to plastic money. From shop owners to fruit vendors, almost everyone seems to have it. The reason for this is its convenience and easy usability. Facilities like the Debit Card have made transactions simpler. It has enabled contactless payments without the involvement of complex steps.
What is the card about? It is a payment card that facilitates debit transactions. It offers instant access to the funds in your Savings Account. It safely transfers your money to merchants electronically. If you have not already, consider a Debit Card. Here are simple steps through which you can do so:
Step 1: Visit your banking partner’s website
Visit your bank’s website. There, look for the option that says apply for a Debit Card. Ideally, it should be in the personal banking section.
Step 2: Choose a Debit Card type
A Debit Card comes in various types. Select the one that satisfies your financial needs. For example, go for an Infinite Debit Card if you want premium facilities or a regular one if you want it for ordinary transactions. Also, ensure that you know the features of each type. Do not select an online Debit Card hastily. If you feel lost, consult a customer support executive for guidance.
Step 3: Submit personal information
Once you select the type you want, you get redirected to another page. Here, submit all your Bank Account details. They are:
- Full name (as mentioned in your Account)
- Your account number
- Your account type
- Registered mobile number
These are a few examples of the details asked by the bank. You can also complete this step through your Banking app if that seems more convenient.
Step 4: Wait for the verification
Next, your banking partner cross-verifies your details. If you provide the correct information, you receive a notification on your registered mobile number or email address. This should take anywhere between two to five days. Also, be sure to submit the contact information for your card. You do not want to miss out on important notifications.
Step 5: Debit Card details
With your Debit Card, you also receive other confidential information. This includes your PIN, CVV, the card’s expiry date, etc. Go through this document thoroughly and keep it confidential. You would also be asked to create a new PIN to activate the card.
